Joe specializes in land, investment properties and commercial sales and leasing in St. Clair, Monroe and Randolph counties. He is a local expert in Southwestern Illinois with extensive knowledge of the communities he serves and commitment to diligently assisting clients in meeting their real estate goals.
Prior to launching his real estate career in 2000, Joe excelled during a 26-year career with Southwestern Bell. He advanced to area manager before he retired and ultimately transitioned to real estate.
Joe's experience in the telecommunications industry gives him a broad understanding of key business practices along with excellent communications skills that translate well to the negotiation of various real estate transactions. Through his representation of numerous clients over the years, Joe has developed a great working relationship with many of the local leaders, lenders and decision-makers in the communities where his clients are most active.
Past projects range from the land acquisition for construction of a manufacturing company’s new 160,000-square-foot plant. Joe assists startup clients in leasing their very first space. He is familiar with economic incentive programs, including TIF and Enterprise Zones, helping his clients to tap into those incentives when available.
Joe also helps clients gain a better understanding the most important items to consider when assessing the value of investment property, such as apartments, office buildings or storage units, whether they are buying or selling.
Joe was named Realtor of the Year by the Realtor Association of Southwestern Illinois in 2014 and served as President of the association in 2010-11. He has been recognized for outstanding performance and was previously awarded the President’s Club Award from the realtors for his sales production.
Now in his 20th year of working in real estate, Joe currently serves on a state level Commercial and Investment Committee for the Illinois Realtors. He has served on many committees for the local realtor association and is a major investor in the Realtor Association’s RPAC. Joe is a board member for the Columbia, Illinois Chamber of Commerce and serves as the vice chairman for the Monroe County Economic Development Corporation.
Joe is a lifelong Illinois resident and has lived in Columbia since 1983. He has been married to his wife Betty since 1995. Joe is the proud father of two daughters and grandfather of two granddaughters.
