Scott began his career with BARBERMURPHY in late 2011 and brings over 40 years of experience in the industrial construction industry. He started as a union ironworker while in college and went on to develop and sell industrial projects on a design-build basis throughout the Metro East, St. Charles County, and St. Louis County. In addition to working on numerous individual projects, Scott played a key role in the development and construction of industrial parks in O’Fallon, Missouri; Wentzville; Litchfield, Illinois; and Edwardsville.
Raised on a small dairy farm in central Illinois, Scott understands the unique challenges facing family-owned businesses, as well as the importance of supporting economic growth in smaller communities. He has collaborated with many economic developers on both sides of the Mississippi River, helping secure opportunities for their regions. Notably, he has often been involved in the sale or purchase of properties he previously helped develop.
Scott resides in his hometown of Carlinville, Illinois, with his wife, Jane. He remains active in the community and currently serves on the board of the Macoupin County CEO program, where he has been involved since its inception in 2014 and has served as Chair since 2021.
When not at work, Scott and his wife, Jane, enjoy life on the water—especially on the Mississippi River—or spending time in Texas with their daughter, Dinah Jane, and son, Luke.
