James' primary focus is industrial sales, leasing and commercial projects in Southern Illinois. He is one of the youngest commercial brokers in the country to become a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), a designation awarded by the CCIM Institute that has stringent education and performance standards to achieve membership. It also represents the skill sets, integrity and work ethic you can expect when working with a professional commercial broker.
James graduated from the University of Missouri, where he earned his bachelor's degree in finance, and specialized in personal finance. During his time at Mizzou, he fine tuned his skills outside of the classroom, working in numerous professional industries, including risk management, real estate and finance.
Immediately following graduation, he continued in the residential real estate market, brokering deals in both Missouri and Illinois. He also helped manage a portfolio of properties for a St. Louis investment group and exposed himself to the diverse aspects of the real estate business, ultimately zeroing in on the commercial real estate sector as his primary area of focus.
As a third generation Illinois realtor, he is excited to be pursuing his true passion in the commercial real estate industry with BARBERMURPHY.
James is a resident of Clayton, Mo. In his free time James enjoys traveling, golfing and water sports.
